Digital Channels Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a different size category than originally posted due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches similar services. It has advised users to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Changes Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Experiences One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Manual Updates A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she said. Platform Context The app has more than 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
